15 Years of Powering Change: Gemma’s Journey with Evolt Charging 

As part of our 15th anniversary celebrations, we’re shining a light on the people behind Evolt Charging who keep the UK’s electric vehicle network moving forward.

This time, we meet Gemma Hoff, Key Account Manager based in Doncaster, who joined Evolt in November 2023. 

Gemma’s role centres on helping fleets, charge point operators and local authorities electrify their vehicles and estates.

She explains, “It’s about keeping relationships moving — organising site surveys, guiding clients through new connections, delivering projects and supporting aftercare to keep equipment fully operational.”

Her EV journey began in 2019 in domestic installations, but the chance to work on larger, high-voltage DC projects with Evolt broadened her experience.

“I wanted to be involved with bigger, more complex projects,” she says.

Since joining, she’s worked closely with customers to help expand their charging networks and maximise their investments. 

One standout project is Merthyr Tydfil — a multi-site rollout with both AC and DC chargers. Gemma recalls, “There were lots of challenges like underground utilities and bespoke installation needs. But overcoming these with innovative solutions and seeing the final result in use is incredibly rewarding.” 

Outside work, Gemma is in the midst of a full house renovation — a project that has taken over many weekends.

“It’s been a real test of patience and determination, but it’s taught me that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.”

She also loves walking, which helps her recharge and clear her head.
