On-site with Osprey, upgrading for the future.
Meeting growing demand
Last week we joined Dora Clarke, Head of Brand and External Affairs at one of Osprey’s busiest charging sites at Lidl, in High Wycombe. This location has long been a favourite for EV drivers, and demand has only grown. To keep pace, Osprey, supported by Evolt Charging, has replaced its original 50kW chargers with new 80kW units with the latest dual-charging capabilities, providing a better and more powerful charging experience that can serve more drivers at the same time.
A simple switch
What makes these upgrades stand out is how straightforward they are to deliver. The 80kW chargers fit into the same space, with the same grid connections and legal arrangements, so the switch can be completed in as little as a single day. That means minimal disruption for drivers and landlords, while maximising the long-term benefits of faster charging. From improved charger screens to smoother customer journeys, these upgrades are most emphatically designed with drivers in mind.
Support behind the scenes
But what drivers see on site is only half the story. Osprey and Evolt also work closely behind the scenes to keep the network reliable. Evolt provides ongoing maintenance support so faults are fixed quickly, and the Osprey call centre now runs through the Evolt Customer Service Centre. Together, the teams ensure drivers get help fast, with 95% of calls answered in under 30 seconds.
Partnership in action
Partnership has been key to making all this possible. Osprey has worked with Evolt Charging for over five years, relying on their hardware, expertise, and customer service support. Together, the two teams have developed a close working relationship that makes complex projects easier to deliver and ensures upgrades run smoothly.
Looking ahead
The work doesn’t stop here. More sites across the Osprey network are earmarked for upgrade; from a busy Marston’s pub in Wales to a high-demand location in Luton.
Ian Johnston, CEO, Osprey Charging:
“At Osprey, we’re committed to providing drivers with a simple, reliable rapid charging experience. Together with our partner Evolt Charging, we’re upgrading some of our busiest 50kW sites with 80kW units with the latest dual-charging technology. Looking ahead, we’re confident our partnership, including hardware, servicing and customer contact centre support, will continue to drive growth and quality across our network.”
