Behind the Charge: Customer Support at Scale
Behind every charging session is more than the technology that makes it happen. There is a team of people working around the clock to support EV drivers, charge point owners and hosts, helping keep charging infrastructure available and customers moving.
Our Behind the Charge video series has taken us inside Evolt Charging’s Dundee Service Centre, introducing some of the people delivering that support every day and giving them the opportunity to explain their roles in their own words.
From commissioning new charge points and supporting charge point owners, to resolving faults and helping drivers get a charge started in the middle of the night, every role plays a part in delivering a reliable charging experience.
Meet the people Behind the Charge
Throughout the series, we’ve introduced colleagues from across our Customer Service, Network Administration and Relationship Management teams.
They each have different responsibilities, backgrounds and experiences, but a common theme runs through their stories: good customer service starts with people.
For Amanda Dowie and her Network Administration team, that means finding solutions, improving processes and building strong relationships with the charge point owners and hosts they support.
In our 24/7 Customer Service team – Paula McGregor, Sam McCash and Josh Smith – they are there when EV drivers need assistance, whether that’s answering an account question, talking someone through their first charging session or helping a driver experiencing an issue late at night.
Across the wider Dundee operation, collaboration between teams helps ensure customers can access the right knowledge and support when they need it.

Supporting customers at scale
During Q2 2026, our Dundee teams supported hundreds of thousands of charging sessions and tens of thousands of customer interactions across the networks we support.
Customer Service Centre
- 35,993 calls handled
- 13,820 emails managed
- 2,431 RFID issues managed
- 89% Customer Satisfaction (CSAT)
- 87% Net Promoter Score (NPS)
Network Administration
- 589,957 charging sessions across all networks
- 11,783 emails sent by the team
These figures demonstrate the scale of activity managed behind the scenes, but every number ultimately represents a customer, host, charge point owner or EV driver relying on our teams for support.
Supporting every customer, around the clock
Behind every call, email and charging session is a customer who needs reliable support. From EV drivers needing help to start a charge, to charge point owners, hosts, fleets and local authorities managing their infrastructure, our Dundee teams provide a joined-up service across a wide range of customer needs.
And because EV charging doesn’t operate nine to five, neither do we. Our Dundee Customer Service Centre operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, giving customers access to real people who understand the technology and can provide support when it’s needed, including escalating issues to our nationwide field service team.
As our networks and the wider UK charging infrastructure continue to grow, so too does our investment in the people, processes and expertise behind that service.
